When I went to Epic Universe with my family, we had no idea what was going to happen and went in completely blind. After spending a day running around trying to ride as much as possible, I can tell you that this theme park has so much to offer, which is why I’ve compiled a list of the best rides and food.
Curse of the Werewolf- 8/10
So fun! You spin around about three times on a track, going around and passing through a house with the werewolf, which makes this ride especially enjoyable if you go on at night. My only complaint is that it was only about 30 seconds long, which is not worth the long wait. But if you see a short wait, go for it. It’s worth it, even for the short thrill.
Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry- 10/10
You ride in an elevator that’s built very similarly to Tower of Terror and bounce around through the rooms. There are no big drops at all. Honestly, I was bracing myself for a big fall at one point, and I admit I was a tad disappointed when it never happened, but it was still incredible. This ride has to be my favorite out of the entire park. The interior area where you wait to get on the ride is also very beautifully built.
Stardust Racers- 9/10
This ride was so amazing! So many turns, so many times you go upside down all at a speed I never thought could be legal. It was incredible, definitely a must-ride from now on. It reminds me of Rockin’ Roller Coaster if it was based on astronomy. If you love big and fast rides, definitely try this.
Constellation Carousel- 7.5/10
Beautiful ride! It overlooks a large body of water, which is very gorgeous to look at while on the carousel. When I went, the wait was very short, and going on it was a great decision. It doesn’t take too long and is perfect if you’re waiting for a timed express pass or if you simply want a break from walking around the park. Definitely worth riding.
Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment- 6/10
It’s essentially the same ride as Forbidden Journey in Universal, but much brighter, which took me out of the story since you were able to see every mechanism that holds you up. Overall a good ride, just overhyped for what it actually is.
BONUS:
Yoshi’s Adventure- 2/10
This ride is so slow I could walk faster if I had a broken leg. Great if you’re with younger cousins or siblings, but if you’re trying to get on as many rides as possible in your day, please save yourself the trouble and find another ride unless the wait is super short. Do not recommend.
Food:
Mac and Cheese Cones: 11/10
I will admit I did not have the highest hopes for these, but oh my goodness they were delectable. The garlic bread cone was actually soft, the mac and cheese was delicious, and now I understand why there was such a long line to wait in front of the booth. If I had the time, I definitely would have bought another even though they were really filling, which is very surprising considering it’s theme park food. So worth it.
Toadstool Cafe: 7/10
This cafe was gorgeous, the interior was adorable, and it felt like I was actually in a Mario Kart mushroom. The “windows” were screens that showed little toads walking around minding their own business, and the ambience was overall adorable. The food itself, however, was visually amazing, but the taste was…not the best. I think I had my hopes up from the mac and cheese cones, but the expectations were not met. Great for photos, not so great for people looking for a good meal.
