From delicious food to exciting activities, the Family Fall Festival was the place to be!
The day started off with everyone gathered for a beautiful community mass led by Father Vallee. As the mass ended, everyone walked over to the Barat campus for a day filled with fun. The young kids were most interested in playing on the bouncy houses and running around with friends. Everyone else was able to enjoy the food, live music, and company of their loved ones.
And for the first time ever, Carrollton hosted the Great Carrollton Bake-Off! The bake-off had 14 different entries with each team bringing 48 cupcakes. The cupcakes were judged based on appearance, texture, flavor and creativity. There were 3 judges: Ayesha Hui, Jennifer Romeu and Anita Marrero.
The Best Gouter award went to Ana-Sophia’s Bake Squad; Most Creative went to Laura Clarke; and Best Classic went to Carmen Diaz-Padron ’77, Samantha Desiato ’30, and Elizabeth Desiato ’34. Mr. Coyle and Mrs. Gillingham-Rivas each gave a President’s and Head’s Choice award. The President’s Choice went to Liesl Geber and the Head’s Choice went to Emma Betor ’31 and Chloe Betor ’29. The competition was extremely tight, and Carrollton can’t wait for this to become an annual event.
Overall, this year’s Family Fall Festival was the perfect activity for Carrollton families to come together and enjoy each other’s company while doing fun activities and even competing in the Great Carrollton Bake-Off.
