Ticket sales for the Taylor Swift Eras Tour are through the roof, costing thousands of dollars or more to see Taylor Swift for three hours at a live concert. Long wait times, queues, and codes have just been some of the challenges of buying tickets for this concert. Is it really worth it?
For two years, Swift has been performing every single one of her eleven “Eras” all across the globe. From her debut album, “Taylor Swift,” to her most recent, “The Tortured Poets Department,” fans have been loving the joy and happiness that has pervaded throughout each stadium Swift has performed in.
But fans have been spending over $3,000 to sit or dance for three hours, watching the back of Swift’s head.
As Swifties ourselves, we were very disappointed to not be able to go to the Eras Tour because of these prices. But asking for more than $1,000 per ticket is horrible.
“I waited until the last second. Everyone was fighting at 2 a.m. to get tickets. It was $6,000 for two people, for my mom and I, to get floor seats,” said one Upper School student.
When the show was first announced, there was this code that you had to get to actually buy the tickets. Our entire grade was trying to get tickets, and only a few people got the code. Some of our classmates now are going to see Swift again for the second time when she comes here to Miami.
Despite these long queues, wait times, prices, and everything in between, classmates of ours who have gone to the tour have experienced the time of their lives. The people who went to the Eras Tour said it was definitely worth the money. “It was the best experience of my life,” said Charlotte Rosalsky ‘29, who went to the concert in Houston, Texas.
Reinhard agreed. “This was the first and best concert of my life, and I would go back a million times,” she said. “The show was amazing. I was so happy I went…If you have the money, then it’s worth it, but if not, then it is not worth it for an average person.”
“It was a happy environment.” Reinhard continued. “Everyone was screaming with joy.”
The good news is prices are dropping in Canada and the U.S. as the European leg of Swift’s tour comes to a close. We are definitely very excited to see the prices dropping as they won’t be as expensive as they were before. However, they are still not a reasonable concert ticket price.
In comparison, a floor seat for a Saturday show in Baltimore, Maryland for two people to see Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet Tour is $783 on the website StubHub. However, to see Swift in Caesars Superdome, New Orleans, it is $3,783 per ticket for two people on a Saturday. That is $3,000 more than Carpenter’s concert tickets.
Fans who were not able to go, like Mila Negreira ‘29, also agree that the prices are insufferable, but that the experience would be something like no other. “I would love to go, but the prices are not reasonable.”
“These tickets are very expensive, and the prices should be lowered,” said Valeria Cepero 29, who is a big Swiftie.

It’s unfortunate because the original tickets were priced very reasonably by TS and her company— I paid $100 last year for great tickets. But scalpers and resellers have been buying the inexpensive tickets and skyrocketing the prices to make a profit off of desperate fans. It’s so sad for folks that love her music and won’t be able to afford to go.
