With the fall season approaching, there has been a great deal of anticipation for the release of the drink of the season, the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. This fall, in order to attract customers, Starbucks has released six new autumn-themed drinks. These include the regular Pumpkin Spice Latte, the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, the Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai, the Apple Crisp Non Dairy Cream Chai, the Apple Crisp Oat Milk Macchiato, and the Iced Apple Crisp Oat Milk Shaken Espresso. We have decided to try each fall drink, and rank them from worst to best.
In last place was the Iced Apple Crisp Oat Milk Shaken Espresso. Its flavor was mostly bitter and the apple taste was not prominent and tasted more of cinnamon.
Next came the Apple Crisp Oat Milk Macchiato, which tasted similarly to the espresso, but less bitter. We also found it strange why Starbucks would decide to mix coffee and fruit flavors.
Next was the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Although it may be known as the most iconic fall drink, we found that it was far too sugary and the flavors were dull. It is important to note that the medium size has over 50 g of added sugar. However, it was still delicious and a fall staple.
Next was the Apple Crisp Non Dairy Cream Chai. This drink was far better than any of the apple and coffee drinks. The chai flavor mixed with apple proved to be better and less bitter than the other two Apple Crisp drinks and was more enjoyable to drink.
Next was the iced Pumpkin Cream Chai. The blend of warm pumpkin and chai flavors put into an iced drink is perfect for a hot place like Miami. It was also sweet and rich.
In first place was the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew with the perfect amount of sweetness and flavor. There was just enough pumpkin cream to give the drink flavor, but not overpower the coffee taste.
If you missed these fall drinks, don’t worry. Christmas drinks are now on the menu!
