Oasis, the famed British rock band has reunited after 15 long years.
Noel and Liam Gallagher, the lead guitarists and vocalists of the band, known best for their songs “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger” announced on August 27, 2024 that the band would play 17 shows across the UK and Ireland in the summer of 2025.
“The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over,” the band posted on Instagram.
Originally from Manchester, the Gallagher brothers rose to fame in 1994 with the release of their album “Definitely Maybe.” The band had a successful 15 years of touring and released seven studio albums, notably “(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?” and “Heathen Chemistry.”
However, Liam and Noel were prone to many disputes, insults, and even physical fights while working together, so much so that one of their arguments inspired Noel to write the moving song “Talk Tonight.”
Eventually, the band called things off backstage at a festival in 2009 before even getting the chance to perform.
The tension between the brothers didn’t stop there. Well into the 2010s, Liam continuously insulted Noel online, calling him a “Potato” as an insult. Most fans didn’t believe that Oasis would ever reunite, and as years went by, Liam and Noel went their separate ways.
But a hint of respect between the Gallaghers gave fans hope for their relationship.
In a 2024 Tweet, Liam responded to the account Rock History asking who was missing from Billboard’s list of the 10 Greatest Rock Lead Singers of All Time. He simply replied, “Noel Gallagher.”
Hopefully this time, for the sake of British rock lovers worldwide, the Gallaghers have truly mended their relationship as brothers.
