Carrollton has many different traditions that bring the Sacred Heart family together.
From students who are lifers at Carrollton to those who walked through the halls for the first time this year, everyone is bonded by traditions such as Dig Pink, Freshman Welcome Week, and Conge.
In a poll of 142 9-12th graders, 32.4% chose Cache Cache as their favorite. Cache Cache is a playful game of hide and seek between the teachers and students at an Upper School assembly every year.
Conge was also a popular tradition with 19.7% responders citing it as their favorite. This is a day when seniors cancel classes for the whole school. Students participate in fun activities planned by the senior class including bounce houses and different types of games. The surprise is part of the fun. “You never know what the theme is going to be…and it’s always really fun,” said Amanda Aguiar ‘28.
Finally, Dig Pink found its place as one of students’ favorites coming in just behind Conge with 18.3% of responders naming it as their number one. “I think it’s a really good way for all of us to bond as a whole school, and I love the pep rally because it’s a good way to make us excited for the games after school,” said Anna Pinzon ‘29. At Dig Pink everyone wears pink, and the dance team performs.

While Cache Cache, Conge, and Dig Pink were named as favorites, there are many other fun events throughout the year that help build community. These include Freshman Welcome Week, class retreats, Follies, Field Day, and Feast Wishes.
Though traditions come and go, the memories made through these activities will never be forgotten. They are what make Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart unique.
