Your mother is your first best friend and the person you can always count on no matter what. She is your biggest supporter and is always looking out for you, and even though you may not always get along, the bond between a mother and a daughter is unbreakable. This year’s Mother Daughter Day was the perfect way to appreciate our moms for being the superheroes that they are and take a break from all the chaos and connect with one another.
Thanks to Hurricane Milton, Mother Daughter Day faced a few setbacks and got delayed a month for the 10th to 12th graders. Even though it was frustrating, it was extremely worth the wait.
The day started off with a delicious breakfast outside the Convocation Center. There was coffee and food, including croquetas, fruit, and so many more amazing treats. After breakfast, everyone proceeded to sit outside in the lovely weather to do a fun activity. Mothers and their daughters each received a canvas and got to paint something special with one another. This was a chance to connect, which is sometimes so hard to do because of how busy life can be.
In the end, the delayed date didn’t matter at all. The extra time just made it that much more meaningful. The morning of peace and joy was well deserved after the chaos and disorder the hurricane brought. We left Mother Daughter Day with a greater appreciation for our mothers and the blessing it is to spend time with them.
